Dr. Ashlee Harrington Vandiver, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA, Board Certified in Audiology
Dr. Vandiver joined LA Hearing Center in September, 2012. She is a native of Androscoggin County, and grew up nearby in Turner. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Communication and Business from the University of Maine in Orono in 2008, and went on to attend Towson University in Towson, Maryland where she achieved her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.). It was always Dr. Vandiver’s dream to return to Androscoggin County to bring current, best-practice hearing health care services to our community. Dr. Vandiver specializes in diagnostic audiology assessment for pediatrics and adults, as well as fitting, programming, and repairing of all makes and models of hearing aids. Dr. Vandiver is Board Certified in Audiology, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and Maine Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Vandiver lives locally with her husband Wesley, a Marine Corps Veteran, and two sons. In her spare time, Dr. Vandiver enjoys spending time with family, reading, gardening, being outdoors and cheering on the Patriots!
Dr. Jenna Palazzolo - Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Palazzolo joined LA Hearing in September 2016. She received her Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Maine in 2011 and continued on to received her Doctorate degree from Central Michigan University in 2015. Dr. Palazzolo moved back to Maine following graduation and has loved being back home on the East Coast!
She has a passion for helping those around her, especially those struggling with hearing loss. She specializes in fitting, repairing, and adjusting all makes and models of hearing aids and loves diagnostic testing for pediatrics and adults.
Dr. Palazzolo resides in Androscoggin county with her husband and growing family! She enjoys visiting family in Michigan and outside of work, Dr. Palazzolo spends time singing, crocheting, and teaching others about natural health solutions through use of essential oils.
Dr. Hilary Maxim - Au.D.
Dr. Hilary Maxim, Audiologist, joined LA Hearing Center as a doctoral extern in June 2016. After graduating in May 2017, Dr. Maxim became a full time Audiologist with LA Hearing Center. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Maine in Orono in 2012. During her undergraduate coursework she was drawn to the field of Audiology and went on to pursue her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Connecticut. Having grown up in Maine, Dr. Maxim was thrilled at the opportunity to return to her home state to begin her career with an organization exercising best practice hearing healthcare for individuals of all ages and abilities. Dr. Maxim specializes in diagnostic audiology assessment for pediatrics and adults, as well fitting, programming, and repairing of all makes and models of hearing aids. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and is pursuing her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
Dr. Maxim currently lives in Portland where, in her free time, she enjoys running on the Portland trails and trying out the many delicious resturants!
Casey Borstel, B.S.
Casey grew up in Massachusetts on the South Shore with a younger sister who was born with hearing loss and communicates using American Sign Language (ASL). Casey received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology in 2014. She quickly discovered, during her undergraduate education, that she was drawn to the field of audiology from her personal experience with hearing loss. Casey started her graduate education at the University of Connecticut in 2014 and is currently a Doctoral Extern here at LA Hearing Center finishing out the last year of her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.). For fun, she loves to explore nature as well as sing, whether it be to the radio in the car or for karaoke.
Kaitlyn Desjardin, B.S.
Kaitlyn Desjardin is an audiology extern at LA Hearing Center. She is in her fourth year of the doctoral program at the University of Connecticut. Kaitlyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. A Connecticut native, Kaitlyn is looking forward to her time in Maine serving the community and is excited to explore the surrounding areas.
