Getting to Know Your Audiologist

Where are you from originally?

Marshfield, MA

Do you have siblings?

1 younger sister

Why did you choose a career in audiology?

My sister was born deaf and uses american sign language (ASL) for communication. I always knew I wanted to work with the population of people with hearing loss in some capacity and audiology seemed to encompass all my interests and strengths.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Restoring patients’ ability to communicate with others is the reason why I do this job. Our innate human ability to communicate with others is such an important part of our everyday life, many do not realize until it is compromised in some way.

What are your hobbies and leisure time activities? Do you play a musical instrument, or sing?

I have loved music and singing since a very young age. I also like to explore new places, which comes in handy since I have relocated to central Maine.

Coffee or tea?

More inclined to drink tea, but some early mornings absolutely deserve a coffee.

Snuggled up with a book or watching a movie?

Such a difficult choice! I love to get lost in books, but I am also a movie buff. It is pretty difficult to find a recent movie that I have not seen.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

I love tropical vacation destinations. I have been to Aruba multiple times and have always enjoyed parking myself on a lounger in the sun.

Do you like to cook? If you do, what is your favorite thing to cook?

I do enjoy cooking, although I am no Top Chef. My favorite thing to cook is a recipe I discovered online, caprese quinoa bake.

What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is A Walk to Remember; Nicholas Sparks affects me every time.
